On the evening of January 20th, the only lunar eclipse of 2019 will light up the night sky across North and South America, parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia will be able to see it too.

NASA says that the edge of the Moon will begin to enter the Earth’s penumbra at 21:39 p.m. ET. For the next 57 minutes, the Moon will dim as it travels through the penumbra. It will reach different stages from 22:33 p.m. ET to 11:41 p.m. ET, but the eclipse will truly begin at 00:12 a.m.
